Link A Day

I wish I was here!

I am in love with these gloves by Twinkie Chan.  You can still text with them on!  Plus they are crazy cute.  Function and fashion.  Love it!

We are a zombie loving family.  Many a night has been spent playing plants vs. zombies with the kids.  I think one of us needs this shirt.

The babes and I will be making these gloves this week!  Super fun!!

I am not sure why I love this so much but I do.  The guy definitely doesn't look like he belongs in a mug shot, does he?  I want to purchase it and make it the cover of a new sketch book.

DIY peacock earrings!  They are everywhere and these feathers that she links to would be subtle and lovely!

Can you believe that I haven't had any candy corn this year?  Crazy go nuts!!!  I will be remedying that today.  Maybe I will make a batch of this delightful fudge in celebration.

Okay this next thing will knock your socks off!  Even if you don't adore Star Wars like my family the work that was put into this quiet book is amazing!!  It gets even better!! You can buy the kit/pattern
right here.  Or if you prefer Star Trek she has that too.

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   When I was a kid I wanted to be      it changed often but what I wanted to be most often was a mommy    when I grew up.

2.   As an adult, my dream job would be   a vintage shop owner.  One with a little cafe and space for local artists to display and sell their ware.  We would have a party every Saturday with local music and local food. *le Sigh*      .

3.  W hen I was younger I wanted to be just like  my momma and my big sister emily   .

4. The childhood Halloween costume that I remember most was when I was    I was a baby like 4 years in a row!  My absolute favorite was a medieval princess.  My mom made it and I loved it    .

5.  My favorite childhood toy was    a crib and baby.  My grandfather made the crib.  It breaks my heart that I don't still have it!  I also got a little tikes kitchen when I was little and I adored that too .

6.  The time I got into the biggest amount of trouble when I was a kid was when I     can't really recall.  I was really sweet until I started "the change".  Now if we are taking about my teenage years I have some whoppers!!!   .

7.  I get daily inspiration from    bloggers, my kids, my hubs, crafty siblings and friends  .

Lazy Days

The past few days have been filled with this:

And lots of this:

Those bad boys are baked pumpkin donut holes but really they are more like mini muffins.  I think that next time I make them I am going to make a glaze to coat them in!  Yummy!!  I can't seem to get enough of pumpkin everything.

Link A Day

This article/slide show about being a pregnant hipster had me laughing!

These wreaths and tutorial slay me!!  I will be searching for some vintage Christmas ornaments the next month and a half.

I might just be obsessed with hair tutorials lately.  Especially easy ones that look like a million bucks- like this one!

OH my heavens this hair pin is so delightful!!  A button?  Feathers?  Me likey.

A perfect fall recipe.  I love pumpkin so very much.  Love it like a family member!  Maybe not so much a close family member but like 2nd cousins once removed.

I found a new Etsy shop to absolutely covet and adore.  With Care Goods.  OH my my!!  I think that my Christmas gift for my BFF is coming from there.  I won't reveal it in case she is reading this but check out this headband.  Or this necklace!

We eat a lot of doughnuts around my house so this recipe is right up our alley.  They have got to be healthier because they are baked right?

I was featured!

I was featured over at delicate construction because of my collar scarf!! I am crazy excited and extremely flattered!  Go over and check out Michelle's blog because it is awesome!

Fill in the Blanks

1.   Nothing says fall like      a light sweater and boots!! .

2.   My favorite autumnal tradition is   taking the kids to the pumpkin patch.  It is so so fun!  I think I may love it more than them      .

3.  My favorite fall treat is   homemade apple butter and anything with pumpkin.  Ohhh maybe I can make some pumpkin butter and mix the best of two worlds   .

4. Fall makes me think of    the holidays!!!    because    I am a Christmas freak.  I think maybe it is more the cooler weather than anything else that gets me in the mood.  Every other holiday is building up to Christmas   .

5.  Autumn free form word association, go!    yummy smells, great spices, pumpkins, leaves falling, Halloween costumes .

6.  My go-to outfit in the fall is     pretty much the same as all year except that this fall I want to add some nice thick tights and great flat boots to everything!  .

7.  My favorite fall holiday is (Halloween or Thanksgiving)    Thanksgiving for sure.  I love sitting around eating and talking as a family.  It is one day that is just for enjoying good food and good company.  I so love going around and hearing what everyone is thankful for  .

Winder Farms

I have been looking through all of our pictures the last few days because I am on a mission to find some pictures of the kids for my close friend to paint (more on this later!  I need some help choosing!).  In my search I found these ones of us at Winder Dairy Farm.  We took a little adventure one day this summer and drove out across the valley and stopped in.  They have a neat little country store/cafe.  They have the absolute best soft serve ice cream evah!  I am a sucker for a good soft serve.

I wish I had gotten a picture of the kids in front of this wall.  It was kitchsy and a whole lot of country and I loved it!  I guess that means we will have to go back.

Towering ice cream cones!!  WOOT!!  As a matter of fact mine was so huge that I ended up needing a cup to stick it in as it toppled and landed on my arm.  Which Lola then proceeded to lick off.

Look at those baby blues.  Oh she makes me smile!

Nicco got a twist cone and licked all the root beer off and pretty much left the vanilla.  I love root beer ice cream.  He is a boy after my own heart!

Okay so I have a rant real quick.  The above picture is the best one that I was able to get of Nick.  The man won't take just a simple smiling picture for anything!  Kind of drives me nuts some times.  Other times it makes me laugh and love him more!

Link A Day

I might be obsessed with A Beautiful Mess.  Elsie and her crew are crazy awesome!!  Check out this arrow belt tutorial.  Adorable, right?  I need to make it ASAP!

This is a fun waste of time.  Who knew that Andy Sandburg was on Arrested Development?  I now know!

UM what?!  I am sure some of you have seen it already but this was in a recent Prudent Baby e-mail and it is genius! It is from Emmyloubeedoo.  She has some amazing tutorials on her blog!  I am a new addict for sure.

I am putting this recipe on my menu this coming week.

Okay I know that I-SPY DIY always has awesome tutorials but this one really caught my eye.

I am pretty sure that my Christmas tree needs this ornament.  So clever and inexpensive!!

This tutorial for ssk from the purl bee is so wonderful!!  After reading it I feel like maybe I could tackle this!  It is crazy that knitting patterns are starting to make sense to me.  They have always been like a foreign language.

My Man

Do see that crazy handsome man right there?!  HE'S MINE!!!  This picture gives me butterflies when I look at it.  I could get all gushy and tell you that he completes me and all that crap but instead I will just say he cracks me up, we still sit up at night giggling in bed and he makes a mean batch of popcorn.

Fill In The Blanks

1.   The most selfless thing I've ever done was      bringing the babies into the world.  And as a matter of fact bringing Lola into this world was even more selfless than bringing Nicco in.  I was so scared after having Nicco and the horror story type birth he had that I was sure I couldn't handle having a baby again.  However, God knows more than me and he didn't let me take on anything I couldn't handle  .

2.   When it comes to working out    I love it once I am started but getting me to that point is like pulling teeth      .

3.  A woman should always   remember that we kick ass.  And not only you individually but remember that all woman are pretty great.  We need to lift each other up instead of bring each other down.  It isn't a competition!  We need to be a support team, cheerleader and advocate for each other    .

4. I wish I could    learn to stop procrastinating    and then I'd    get rid of a lot of stress   .

5.  A best friend is    there when you need them.  They know when to kick you in the pants and when to just agree with you because we don't always want to be told the obvious thing that we already know.  Sometimes I just want to bitch .

6.  I can't get enough of     home- made apple butter.  It is addicting!   .

7.  This weekend I am    working and spending every other moment with the family.  I think a mini date night is in order  .

The Great Pumpkin Patch

This is a little image heavy but I couldn't resist!  We went to the pumpkin patch this week.  OH it was so fun!  My kids are great- does every mother think that?  I hope so!  I hate to say it but my kids are the best kids in the world.  Yeah I went there!!!!!!!

Nicco was so cute with that wheelbarrow.

Lola rather ride in a wheelbarrow than use one!

Lola showing off her awesome pumpkin.  She could barely lift it!

At this point Nicco decided the wheelbarrow was too heavy and refused to wheel it around anymore.

My pumpkin!!!!  I almost always get a grey one.

I almost had a heart attack with them up on those hay bails.  They were all tipping over.  Momma needed a breather after that!

Yay corn maze!!  I tried to take a video of them in there but they were way too fast for me and it was just a 18 second video of shaking corn stalks.

umm kay- Are they not the cutest kiddos around?

cowl neck collar scarf thing

I have been in a knitting mood lately.  It must be because the weather finally started to turn to colder temps.  I started making a full on scarf but got sick of knitting it real quick!  So I turned it into a cowl neck collar scarf thing.  Yeah I am not sure about that name either.  I am pretty positive that I love the cowl neck collar scarf thing though!  I figured out how to do the hole and everything on my own.  For all of you knitters out there that are laughing at me right now- I was pretty proud!!  I am a novice knitter at best.

Don't mind my ridiculous bangs!  I need to cut them super bad!  Luckily I can do it myself now thanks to vintage wife!!

Is knitter even a word?  It doesn't look right typed up.  Or said out loud for that matter.

Link a Day

First a picture because I always include a picture!  This is from the pumpkin patch last year.  Such a fun day and one I intend to repeat this year!

And now some links for your enjoyment.....

Want to learn to crochet?  Check this out!  It is a free course!

Yellow Finch Designs has the most beautiful jewelry and it is crazy inexpensive!  This here bracelet is going on my Christmas wish list!

And while we are on the subject of jewelry I want everything on in this shop.  Marika King you make me swoon!  Especially this!

This video will get you!  If it doesn't I am not sure we can be friends.  It made me cry both times I watched it.

ON my to-do list is to make this.  Oh can you imagine it with pumpkin cheesecake?!

This tutorial is wonderful!! I was just thinking about buying a set of sponge curlers.  We used to wear them to bed when we were little.  I loved it!

And last but certainly not least!!!  This asymmetrical hair style is right up my alley!  I L.O.V.E things that are asymmetrical.  I plan on doing it without the clip in extensions because I am too cheap to buy some for  just one hair- do!  Maybe frugal is a better word than cheap.  Yes I am too frugal!

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   Something popular that I can't stand/just don't "get" is      the Beatles.  I don't mind them but I could definitely go without  .

2.   Something unpopular that I secretly love is    Paul Simon!  Yeah I always thought he was super popular but my husband informs me that no he is not      .

3.  When I've had a bad day I   get snappy and then have to go around the house apologizing to everyone for being a jack ass   .

4. I'd prefer    a donut    to    pretty much anything      any day.

5.  Something that makes me nervous is    talking to my boss about my new schedule.  She is gonna be mad at me!

6.  Something worth fighting for is      living your dreams!  It is a scary prospect but working from home with my kids running around and helping seems just right.  It feels like that is what I should be doing.   .

7.  When people think of me, I hope they think    "She is a good wife and mother.  And freaking fun to be around!  .
