out with the old and in with the new

Nicco went back to school today.  I think that might be my signal that the holidays are officially over.  Time to put away all the decorations and get back into a routine.  Sad face.  Now is the time for New Years resolutions!  Do you set resolutions?  I do but usually fail miserably.  Like 2012!  I think that I did one and almost a second on that list.  I have great intentions!  However, I think that I set myself up for failure.  I set these WAY lofty goals.  So this year I am only going to set a couple of goals.  Here they are:

1. Lose the sarcasm!
Nick and I are setting this one together.  We are very happy in our marriage but I think that if we aren't moving forward then we are moving backwards.  So we are working on making our marriage that much more solid.  We are going to work on not being sarcastic with each other.  It is biting and hurts.  It has no place in our home.

2. Stop procrastinating!
I am the worlds best procrastinator.  All that procrastinating does is add more stress to my life.  Out with the stress and in with the calm.

3.  Work on finances!
This includes continuing working on savings and getting as much debt paid down as possible.  We are wanting to buy a house within the next five years and we need to get our credit repaired and our debt down.  I feel like an adult typing that out.

That is that!  I do have a mantra that I am chanting to myself all day long.  That is  "Find the Joy".  It gets me through some days where the joy is hard to find.  It has become purposeful.  And something I am resolved to do!

If you will notice I did not set a weight loss goal.  Weird for me but I have come to the conclusion that that is a life goal.  Not one that will be done within a year.  It feels good to finally come to that realization.

Beehive Bump Ponytail

I have had to keep reminding myself of my new years resolution's.  I am hanging on by a thread people!  Well at least on some of them.  I resolved to do my hair 4 out of 7 days a week.  Yeah.....  I have not kept up with that.  Not even kind of.  I am re-re-resolving to work on it.  I have been pinning and bookmarking the crap out of cute hairstyles in hopes of inspiring myself.  I haven't actually done one.  Not a single one!  ON to a new feature on this here blog.  I am going to re-create my long list of hairstyles.  I don't think that it will be on a set day every week.  I am going to just post when I can get the hairstyles done and photographed.  It is going to be fun for me!  Trying out new things and what not.

My first one is a Beehive Ponytail from over at Two Happy Hearts.  Um have you seen this blog?  cause you should!  I have bookmarked a few different hair-do's from Christen's delightful blog.  Any ways, next time I am going to tease the heck out of my hair and do a big bump.  Like super super big!  I love the retro feel of this look and it was crazy easy.  Just tease, twist, pin and waallaa!  My type of style.  Mine ended up a little more messy than Christen's.  Which is okay by me.

Hair hair hair!!

Has anyone let their New Year resolutions go to the wayside yet?  I must admit that I haven't been the best.  But I am already re-committing!  One of my resolutions was to do my hair 4 out of 7 days a week.  I figured that I could handle at least that much but uh... I was mistaken.  So I am re-resolving!  Now I am going to do a weekly post showing my hair-do's.  Keep me honest and all.  I only took pictures of two days last week.  I did manage to do my hair 4 days though.  Oh and to warn you- I consider leaving my hair down as doing it!  That is a pretty rare thing for me so it is an accomplishment.  Sad?  Yeah it is.

This is just my bangs pulled back in a little pouf and a ponytail.  I used to wear my hair like this 5 out of 7 days a week.  I usually gave my pouf a little more bouff though.

I liked this one a lot!  You can't tell in the picture but it is like the ancestor to a liberty roll!  I want to try liberty rolls some time.  They seem a little advanced for me though.
