So I have already used this tutorial from C&C for a braid ponytail here.  But I also loved this braided "headband".  SO here you go! 

Don't you love when the sun blinds you and makes it almost impossible to open your eyes?  Yeah that is what is up with that top picture.  Hawt, right?!  I guess I should have just put my sunglasses on but I would die of embarrassment if you all saw my 5 dollar sunglasses that are all jacked up.  Like cracked lens, scratched up and the finish is peeling off- jacked up.  Yet I refuse to get new ones because the craptastic ones I have fit over my glasses.  Yeah I wear them over my regular glasses.  I am too cheap to spring for some prescription sunglasses.  I am a classy broad yo!

This has been a lovely week.  Mostly!  HAHA!  We got a lot of stuff done that needed to get done.  I love that.  It is great to mark things off your list.  I have been ignoring the blog and trying to enjoy the weather when it is nice.  The kids start getting cabin fever if they stay in the house for more than two minutes.  So lots of time spent outside.  And it was my mommas birthday!  Everyone from the family that was able to celebrate came out and we had a little party.  Fun times!  Any ways.... on to the links.

1.  When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is,   lay and listen for the kids.  If they are still asleep I lay in my bed and wait for them to crawl into bed with me.   .

2.   I can hardly wait for     May!  It is going to be a busy and fun month   .

3.  The quickest way to my heart is     music       because     I am a sucker for a good song.  It doesn't even have to a love song- just well written  .

4. A little known fact about me is that      I love dorky teen movies.  Like a drug .

5. The best part about my job is      that I only work 1 or 2 days.  HA!  No but really I love being home with my kids most days.  They are so fun and work blows .

6. Something I just couldn't live without is     my phone!  It is my little security blanket as pathetic as it sounds  .

7.  Something useful that I wish I knew how to do is    fix cars.  That would save a lot of money and headache.  Not just the simple stuff but big stuff .

So yeah that lovely picture right there (ha) is the sign of me checking off one thing on my 27before28 list.  Also off of my April goals.  What?!  It still needs some tweaking before I can actually post a recipe but I made that bad boy and I am taking credit for that pie!

And about the pie?  It is a peach and berry pie and it tasted crazy good!  Like whoa!

Nick and I went and saw The White Buffalo play last night.  I can't even begin to explain how great the show was.  I have loved his music for a really long time now and I want so badly for him to get some recognition for his talent.  Then again little shows like the one last night aren't possible once someone becomes mainstream.  It was so amazing!

This week has been pretty good.  Not a single complaint here!  I love weeks like this.  Chill and fun!  The kids and I went to dinner last night- just the three of us since Nick was working.  I was worried about venturing to a restaurant sans the husband.  I am afraid of going places alone with my kids that don't involve carts that can restrain them.  So we went to Chick-fil-a.  Ritzy right?!  And you know what?  It turned out great.  The kids were little doll babies.  Fantastic mothering moment for me.  Next time might be a different story......  Links?

The weather today is fabulous!  A little on the warm side even.  Wouldn't these homemade drumsticks be perfect to cool off with?

Any crafters out there?  My loverly sister Emily started a super cool deal of the day site.  She doesn't just post/sell crafty things- she has sold nail wraps and hair barrettes and the like.  She has some cool stuff over there on 2dayzspecial.  Check it out!!  I just bought some chalkboard vinyl the other day.  Oh and some barrettes!  W00t!

I am working on a collage wall in my bedroom and I think I will be making a sign like this with our last name or a fun word.  Maybe the actual word fun.  Or rad.  Or totally tubular.  Hmmm... any other suggestions?

This is the first screen printing tutorial that makes sense to me!  And now nothing is safe.  I will be screen printing everything!

The first thing I am going to screen print?  T-shirt bags for the kids!

I love call me cupcake.  Her recipes are all in metric (?I am not totally positive if that is correct?)  so I would have to convert them but really I just want to look at her photos of food.  They are beautiful!

So beautiful that they have inspired me to work on mine.  This tutorial seems like an excellent place to start!

The blogosphere is rad and crazy sometimes.  I bookmarked this A frame tent from cakies a long time ago  and then I erased all my book marks (gasp!).  I couldn't remember for the life of me where I had seen it.  I was so so bummed!  Then suddenly/randomly/serendipitously Rachel from Smile and Wave linked to it the other day.  Awesome!

I am in the mood for spring!  I have been keeping my eye out for springy attire.  Like these sandals for example!

1.  Today is a good day because   it is Friday and Nick and I both have the weekend off!  YAY!   .

2.   The best thing I did all week was    walk with the kids to the corner store.  It was fun and it wore them out.  It was a twofer!   .

3.  The current weather is     rainy       and it makes me feel     tired   .

4. The best thing about spring is      being able to play outside all night long!!  I love the longer days during the spring  .

5. A fashion trend that I'm dying to try out for spring is   an asymmetrical skirt.  They are freaking cute and everywhere .

6. A person who made me smile this week was     my sister Emily!  It was her birthday this week and I was able to hang out with her.  It is always a good time when she is around!  .

7.  The most delicious thing I ate all week was   Smith's chinese.  If you live in the Salt Lake area you have got to go to the Smiths grocery store on 8th south and 9th east and get their chinese!  It is surprisingly good.  Taiwanese rice noodles?  UH what?!  Yeah it is delightful!   .

Sweet Braid YO!

I am trying to keep up with doing my hair!  Here is another hair-do from another bloggers tutorial.  I actually have been doing my hair like this a lot lately.  Even before I found this tutorial but I love a good tutorial!  I found it over at Cotton&Curls.  I love her blog!  I currently have like 15 different tutorials of hers to try out.  She refashions clothes like no other.  Totally awesome!   

April Goals

SO I am a little late posting my April goals- many of which happen to be the March goals that I never did.  Lets not talk about it......  Okay lets!  I swear that as soon as I give myself a list and a due date I get bored and find a million other things I rather do.  I am a master procrastinator and ignorer.  I can ignore a to do list or a deadline like the best of them!  Blah.  I need to work on that.  And I am starting with this month!  On to my goals...

*start piecing our quilt

*make a pin-hole camera

*bake a pie from scratch

*bake a loaf of bread

*write/send 3 things snail mail

*get some stuff in the Etsy shop

*make 1 quilt for the road home

*gather items for the backyard teepee

*plan our garden- get beds ready to plant

I need to get on working this list like today.  No excuses!  Any suggestions on how to over come the procrastination bug?  They would be greatly appreciated!

Happy Easter to those who celebrate it!  Celebrating is the reason I haven't posted in a week.  We party hard over here.  Oh yeah and lots of working and family emergencies.  I wish it was all fun and games.... sigh.  I am back this week though!
